“In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve.” — from The Brief Statement of Faith, PC(USA)

The love of Christ compels us to worship, learn and serve as a Christ-centered community inviting all to share a relationship with God. The great ends of the church provide guidance for the church as faithful expressions of the Christian gospel and as what God calls the church to be and do. They are:

  • the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind;
  • the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God;
  • the maintenance of divine worship;
  • the preservation of the truth;
  • the promotion of social righteousness;
  • and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.
