Per Capita Giving at Lakeside

Per capita is a fundamental way in which all of the nearly 11,000 congregations and mid councils of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) are connected and participate in the work of the wider church.

Because it is rooted in the connectional and covenantal nature of the Presbyterian church, as affirmed by the ordination vows taken by elders and ministers of the Word and Sacrament, per capita could be called the Presbyterian Covenant Community Fund.

Per Capita Apportionment. Per capita is a set amount of money per member that congregations pay to support the larger Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Every Presbyterian shares in the benefit of the PC(USA)’s system of government, so every Presbyterian is asked to share the expenses associated with coordinating and performing the work of that system. In 2018, we are assessed $31 per active church member. A donation of any size helps Lakeside pay the roughly $15,000 annual per capita apportionment.
