Smiles and Sandwiches for our friends at the Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky
Written by Peter Teremi
It was an unseasonably warm morning. More than 25 Lakesiders were assembled in the warmly lit kitchen at Lakeside Presbyterian Church to feed our neighbors. Children of all ages rolled up their collective sleeves to joyfully, and raucously, move generous helpings of peanut butter and jelly across fast moving bread slices.
Laughter and chatter, punctuated by the sound of clacking butterknives and flatulent squeeze bottles, infused the room with love and caring for our fellow, fellows.
When the activity settled, more than 100 sandwiches were packed into waiting boxes, ready for their journey to the Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky. Many thanks to all who came out to participate, and make a little difference in the world.
The team assembled.
